Why?
Why would my 3 year old, being in her right mind, think it was a good idea to flood my bathroom with soapy water, all while lying by omission when I called up the stairs, "What are you doing" to receive the response, "Nothing..."
Why would she do such a thing, and why would she lie...
It makes me sad that children will do these things even though us moms give them EVERYTHING we got!
Oh well...I guess I'll get over it...
I just want to know...WHY?!

i guess the simple answer is a sinful nature, right? and the fact that kids (and adults!) don't want to be held responsible for their "curiosities", and they know they will be in trouble if they tell the truth. it's avoidance of consequences, right?

i always tell elias he'll be in more trouble if he's NOT honest. i would much rather him tell the truth and get a lesser punishment than look me in the eyes and lie, you know?
